Redesigning the Studio at WMCN posed a unique challenge. Creating a versatile, engaging space that allowed for two or three set-ups in the same set, while maintaining a uniformity and flow that would not look disjoined in the whole. The concept was to develop a modern, colorful, comfortable “living” space comprised of a “Kitchen Infomercial” side, including a Multi-purposed Island for Product Display or Discussion, and a “Living Room Talk show” side with a chair and couch for an interview setting. The middle of the set has a large, flat panel television, enabling a host to introduce pre prepared video. The Set currently has backdrops of the New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia skylines hanging in its three large faux windows, but any setting can be chosen. The props on the lighted Shelving and Credenzas can be changed out to create a background custom tailored to any product or service, and the wall colors have been chosen for maximum vibrancy and interest.
